Adult Summer Reading

Adult summer reading? YES! Each summer we have a program just for adults that is fun and easy. Summer is always a great time to catch up on reading. Reading lets you relax and escape. It makes you think and be informed. It can even reduce your stress level. If you’re a parent or care-provider for children, reading is a great model. Children who see their role models reading want to read and be read to! This summer, reading to escape, enrich your life, educate, and explore is more appealing than ever.

Adult Summer Reading programs begin June 14th and run through August 14th.

Here’s what we’re up to this summer:

Read, Share, and Win: Log your summer reading and write books reviews for a chance to win gift card prizes to local businesses. 

Get ready by starting a Beanstack account today if you haven’t already! Register for the challenge now!

For every book you read and every book review you write (up to 20 each), you can earn raffle tickets to enter into drawings for gift cards from local businesses and/or a Zoo package! Prize drawings this summer include:

$25 gift cards to Bubbas, End of the Leash, Beach Bum Bakery, Jersey Mikes
$50 gift cards to Harvest Home, The Roost Mercantile, Seesters, Twisted Vine Wine Shop
Zoo package that includes 5 admission tickets, 3 attraction tickets, and a behind the scenes tour for up to 6 guests!

Outdoor Bingo
Play a few games of Bingo for fun + a small prize. Scheduled Wednesdays at 1:00 pm. Registration is required; click on the date links below.

Wednesdays: June 16th, June 23rd, and June 30th
Wednesdays: July 14th, July 21st, and July 28th

Pewalkers walking group
We’ll be getting our steps in walking around Pewaukee. We’ll meet on scheduled Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 am. Registration is appreciated by clicking on the date links below.

Tuesdays: June 22nd, June 29th, July 6th, July 13th, July 20th, July 27th
Fridays: June 18thJune 25th, July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd, July 30th

DIY Terrariums: Let’s get our hands dirty and make a small ecosystem — a tiny garden! We’ll provide the supplies.

Tuesday, June 29th 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Supplies are limited; registration is required; sign up here. Registration is full.

Geocaching 101: Learn the basics of geocaching, a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game. There are millions of geocaches hidden around the world…and many right here in Pewaukee! Families are welcome; children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.
