The 2018 Summer Reading Program is complete! We had a great response this year: 1,256 children signed up for the Summer Reading Club! A whopping 333 kids successfully completed all six Activity Sheets, and 597 kids completed at least four sheets!
Also fantastically, the children of Pewaukee read an amazing amount of books for our Chapters For Change Reading Challenge! This year we were able to donate $1,700.00 to Hungry For Music, a charity that helps needy music students acquire instruments. We are all very proud of everyone’s hard work. Thank you so much!
Of course, the Summer Library Program wouldn’t be a success without the contributions of many, many people. Thank you to all the parents and caregivers who know that summer reading and learning is the best way to keep kids on track academically and who made time to bring their young people to the library! Thank you also to all the businesses and individuals who donated valuable free passes and other incentives to keep kids reading! And, of course, a big thank you to the hardworking library staff who checked out, checked in, and shelved all the thousands of books that these wonderful Pewaukee kids read all summer long! Check out all of our wonderful help in the posters below.
