The Friends of the Pewaukee Public Library (“FOL” or “Friends”), begun in 1993, believe that a healthy, growing library is an important part of a strong community. The Friends strive to increase awareness and appreciation of the Library through ongoing advocacy. They raise funds, encourage charitable gifts, and provide programs for the public.
The Friends raise funds through twice-yearly book sales and are always looking for donations for these sales! Please see our donation guidelines. Funds raised are used to help fund programs, materials, and equipment not included in the operational budget of the Library.
The Friends also have an on-going book sale within the Library where people can browse for books. Materials from the “Book Nook” in the Library may be purchased at the Circulation Desk.
A few of the programs that the Friends have sponsored are:
- Movie licenses to allow the Library to show movies on the big screen in the Community Room
- Family Fun Nights (part of the Summer Library Program)
- Wisconsin Science Festival programs held at the Library
- Memory Cafés (for those with early-stage memory loss and their care-partners)
The Friends are currently seeking new members who are interested in actively participating in the organization. If you would like to join the Friends of the Pewaukee Public Library click here for a printable membership form.
