Children’s Reading Program

Join us for the Summer Reading Program–sign up begins Tuesday, May 26th and runs til Saturday, August 22nd.

Our program (Grade K-5) is designed to not only promote reading, but also encourage learning in math, writing, and other subjects.  By keeping our minds and bodies active, we can better retain all the wonderful stuff we learned in school, and be better prepared for the next school year!

Each week, you are given A CHALLENGE!  Complete at least 6 out of 8 learning tasks assigned to you.  When you are done with that week’s learning log, come back to the library for prizes!  Each Challenge completed earns you a COUPON to a local business!

Younger kiddos (Ages 0-4) can participate in our Early Literacy Challenge, and earn prizes too!

Everyone can track their reading through our service called Beanstack.  Beanstack is free to use, and can be accessed through your web browser or through a free app on your mobile device.

Click here to visit Beanstack and join the challenge on or after May 26th, or download the free app to your mobile device.  If you have used Beanstack for a previous challenge, such as the 2025 Summer Reading Program, you do not need to create a new account.  Please remember to also link your account with your Pewaukee School District Beanstack account to make your logging for both organizations easier.  For more information on how Beanstack works, click here.

Please note that kids who will be entering 6th grade this fall have the option to participate in either the Kids’ Summer Reading Program, -OR- the Teen Summer Reading Program.  On or after May 27, visit Beanstack and choose whichever program you think is the best fit for you.
